Forum software issues

Hosting provider of LogMeTT.com recently upgraded PHP to version 7, which has certain compatibility issues with the phpBB forum software we are running. Number of PHP commands have been depreciated in version 7 and this broke the code in several places.

I am currently looking into two options to address this
- upgrade phpBB to the latest version (time consuming manual process with database migration). This will most likely require upgrade of Joomla to phpBB bridge called p8pBB, which is a commercial product. [Long term solution]
- fix the existing code by locating and updating all the files that are failing. [Short term solution]

The main issues I mentioned so far are related to creating new posts. BBCodes (bold, underline, etc.) do not work and file upload function is failing.

Unfortunately I have no ETA for fixing this as I am maintaining this website during my free time which has been constantly shrinking during the last several years.

I want to apologize for inconvenience and looking forward for your understanding.

If somebody is interested volunteering, or even taking over support and maintenance of this website, I'd gladly accept such help. The following skills will be required:
- Good knowledge of PHP
- Knowledge of Joomla Content Management Solution
- Knowledge of phpBB forum software
- Knowledge of Apache web server
- Knowledge of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)

The duties will include:
- Once in about every 3 months publish new version of TeraTerm. This is a manual process, it includes multiple steps and takes about 1 hour.
- Periodically update Joomla software. Depending on the amount of changes this may take from few minutes to few hours. Website contains many customized files that are usually overwritten during upgrades. Each of these files needs to be manually re-patched.
- Periodic updates of phpBB software. The same as with Joomla - the amount of work involved varies.

Just to remind, LogMeTT.com is non-commercial project, i.e. you are asked to give (your time) and will not get paid for what you do.
