It could be usefull to convert LF received into CR+LF (not only CR to CR+LF)

thanks

I agree, I can certainly say that I could also use this.

I receive ASCII 10 which should then be translated (on the screen) to CR+LF, otherwise the staircase effect happens.

Unfortunately, there are only two options in TeraTerm Terminal Setup: CR, and CR+LF, for TX and RX. I think I would want RX to be set to LF. Presumably, that would also disregard CR.

Technically this is the issue. I can either receive CR+LF, or LF, because what I'm connecting to has different parts of code (source doesn't exist). I would like TeraTerm to be able to interpret either CR+LF or just LF as a typical linefeed and carriage return on the screen.

Hi,

HIRATA Yutaka made a patch for this issue.
UI shows "LF" at TX and RX, but patch supports only receiving LF.
Could you please check this snapshot?

Thanks,

Hello, I am away from my office next week, but I have asked some colleagues to test it. I do appreciate your response, as well as the work from Hirata Yutaka. If my colleagues can't test it, I'll be able to test it next week. I need to be connected to the equipment with the issue. Thanks!

Hello, indeed, I tried that snapshot, and on the Rx I set up LF, and indeed it does fix the problem!! Thanks for Hurata Yutaka for the snapshot and thanks for Ngata Shinya for pointing out the snapshot.

Thanks also for helping to get this implemented.

It also works just fine for the text that sends CR+LF (as CR is ignored).

Hi JustRob,

I have commited this patch to TeraTerm CVS server and have made the latest archive below site.
Would you please evaluate this archive, again?

Hi, Yutaka. Indeed, it works. I merely copied all the unzipped contents overtop of a pre-existing TeraTerm 4.49 install directory. In fact, I'll probably keep it in "LF" mode since that works in cases when LF only and CR+LF are sent.

Thanks for the code change!!

Something I didn't think of until now, after re-looking at the original poster of this thread. I don't know if LF will get converted to CR+LF for log files with that setting but it is just something to think about.

Regards,
-Rob
